Project enquiry

Begin with the reading problem.

An initial writing conversation with Liam James Stampton.

Begin with the reading problem.

Tell me who will read the words, what they need to understand and where the text will appear. Identify approved source facts and the person responsible for checking them. A website page, a welcome email and a short editorial piece need different lengths and structures; mention the format you have in mind.

The discussion should separate rewriting supplied material from developing a new content outline. It can also establish tone, review rounds, permissions and a proposed publication date. Preparing a draft here does not commission copy or confirm that a requested deadline can be met.

Use a short nonconfidential summary rather than sharing private interview notes, a mailing list or customer information in the opening enquiry.
